Macros and Visual Basic Editor Will not run In Outlook

    Locked

    by mraftice ·

In Outlook, when I click on Alt-F11, the Visual basic Editor will not run. When I click on Tools > Macros > Macros, nothing happens. It is very strange because my computer runs the visual basic editor and Macros but my coworker’s machine will not. I have tried turning off Macro security and have also enabled the Microsoft VBA for outlook Addin and checked the installation disk to make sure that it was installed but yet had no luck. i am presently upgrading to office 2007 service pack one to see if that will help. Assistance or ideas are welcomed

Open Outlook 2007 and click Tools, Trust Center and check the Add-ins to make sure that it is there and check to see if the outlvba.dll exists in the directory below.

      Name
      Microsoft VBA for Outlook Addin

      Location
      C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\ADDINS\outlvba.dll

Also check Macro Security and make sure that it is not disabled.

Click Start, Run and type in regsvr32 “C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\ADDINS\outlvba.dll” and press Enter.

Resart the PC and try to run VBA.

      Visual basic tool bar

Try to enable the tool bar option from the tools menu. if you dont see the toolbar floating it looks like you will have to check your setup and see if VBA is included in the custom dialogue box.
If it is displaying just click on the Visual Basic editor icon to start the ide.

Apart from that theres no other reason except a corrupt install or missing files.

      Good luck
