Mail Forwarding

Have a slight problem where from one domain emails are fowarded to another but they never reach they timeout because of hops. They leave the site but never reach there destination. how can I cure this. each site runs exchange 5.5 and are not connected in anyway.

check your dns zone settings, if the start of authority is not 100% other servers will refuse the mail if the name does not resolve to the likeing of the server.

Definitely check DNS Settings (as listed above). If this doesn't help, you may want to look into the possibility of connecting the sites directly (dialup might work well in this instance, although you don't give enough infomration for me to say for sure).
