Mail through Exchange and Pop connector

By solanese ·
Ladies and Gentlemen: I have a Windows SBS 2000 server with Exchange and Pop connector. When I try to receive an e-mail through internet from an ISP mailbox (like "carlos@mydom.com" or "fj@mydom.com") the server resports that is downloading but the e-mail is not received by the local domain server exchange mailboxes (like "carlos.solano@sbs.local" or "fernand.solano@sbs.local"). It seems that the information arrives to the server but does not get to the local mailboxes.
I greatly appreciate some help with this matter.
Thanks and Regards: Jose Solano

Have you configured the POP3 Connector so that each external email address is properly attached to a specific user's mailbox? In the POP3 Connector configuration, you need to set up each external mailbox with the user's logon name and password and then specify which internal user should be receiving that mail.

If this doesn't seem to answer your problem, you might try setting the logging for the POP3 Connector to maximum temporarily, so that you can check the event log for more information on what is actually happening during the communication between your server and the external POP server.

Hope this helps!

If you really must use POP in a corporate environment, make sure the connector for POP3 is configured properly and that it is actually running (check services manager)

It is pobably a good Idea to create a different profile on the client side to deal with the pop inbox specifically, so as to keep the corporate and POP network seperate :)
