Managing Contacts Network

By bshomer ·
Hi,

What is your recommended tool for managing a large contacts network?
I'm not referring to a plain addressbook or rolodex type of a
program, but rather a serious database with different categories,
keyword associations and ability to perform different tasks out of
the database.
My personal preference would be a Linux based tool and probably
based on postgreSQL. Is there any tool like that?
I thought of writing something, but I want to know what's out there
before I sweat.

Thanks,

Benny.

ACT! and Goldmine are 2 common contact managers. Not sure about Goldmine but with ACT! you can manipulate the back-end DB using Access. Not sure if they support Linux.

Benny,
Judging by the technology you've chosen, you are probably a open source proponent as well. You've probably checked these sources already, but I would search through
hotscripts.com
freshmeat.net
sourceforge.net

if you're looking for postgres stuff, search under PHP or perl for a solution.

Good luck,
Eugene K
