There is a Technet article #Q155414, that tells you about the Directory Import feature in the Exchange Admin program. With it, you can import from a CSV file into Exchange and create/edit mailboxes.

(please remove any spaces)

You will have to format the CSV file properly to conform with what Exchange wants.

hope this helps

Let's say I want to add 20 users to Exchange. Can I just create a .csv file with these 20, or do I need to add the 20 to my exported file?

This document explains how to use Microsoft Access (both 97 and 2000) and the "Microsoft Exchange and Outlook Data Access Wizard" to migrate specific data from cc:Mail to Exchange. It explains how to migrate two different types of data. The first isto extract the current SMTP addresses from the cc:Mail Internet gateway and update the cc:Mail custom recipients in Exchange....

See link for the rest:

I am not trying to migrate cc:Mail addresses. I want to be able to update Exchange with numerous new mailboxes.

You can create them separately. All you need is the header.exe utility from the Exchange 5.5 resource kit. This utility will help you in creating the header line of the CSV file (provides more customization beyond ht estandard line found in the export.csv).

Once created all you have to do is import the CSV and the accounts should be created or modified if they already exist.

The resource kit for Exchange 5.5 is viewable via the online technet :

http:\\www.microsoft.com\technet

Chapter 7 (part 7) provides a link to download the tools.

Good luck.

Rick
