MCSA/MCSE on Windows Server 2003 to expire ?

By Aravinds1611 ·
Hi,

I have decided to start a classroom training program on MCSA in January 2009.

Suddenly, I hear news from counselors from certain training institutes saying that MCSA/MCSE on Windows Server 2003 will expire soon.

They also suggested a MCTS on Windows Server 2008.

I assumed that organisations will not migrate to Windows Server 2008 that quickly and certification on Windows Server 2003 would still hold valid.

Kindly provide your thoughts on this.

Thanks for your time.

Regards,
Aravind.

MCSA/MCSE on Windows Server 2003 to expire ?

This is my question, too. Since I'm set to take the exam this month (Jan 2009) probably the second week. But with my research, I found these two links:

http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.cert.exam.mcsa&tid=aa3da3fa-60af-4097-a5cd-2754c421e15e&cat=en_US_49d2b4a6-6973-457d-87a7-0e67a7b4f2e6&lang=en&cr=US&sloc=&p=1

http://support.microsoft.com/lifecycle/?LN=en-ph&x=12&y=13&p1=3198

So, I think there is still much time. After passing the exams, it's easy to upgrade to MCTS or the newer and upgraded certifications.

all i know is, according to microsoft, only the new certs for windows 2008 will expire as soon as they stop offering support. as far as the MCSA/MCSE 2003, they have no plans in expiring the exams as they know the industry is still using them. i've just passed my 291 last month. if i were you, i'd refer to MS website...to be sure

fyi, im pursuing my MCSA 2003 and compTIA security+ 2008, and that's what i know...
