MCSE/A+ROI Pages and Documents

By wfrazier ·
Anyone know where I can find online resources discussing benefits of obtaining MCSE? I am looking for a resource thatlists or documents all the positive reasons to get certified....including Return on Investment (ROI) points and arguements.

I have to present something that is short but sweet as far as benefits, ROI, and growth in the I.T. field when it comes to certification. These points and facts have to be presented to a 5 person commitee that knows little to nothing about the importance of certifications, even when having a degree. Thanks for any resources you can point me to.

I think that is all depends on the situation and the requirements of the job. You can get a cert and still not know anything about what you are doing. Hands on is the best learning there is, a few years of hands on experience and then get a cert in the whatever field would be the way to go. Some schools offer the boot camp training to obtain your cert and this is a great way to go IF you have hands on experience. If you do not have hands on then you will obtain your cert by memorizing it, which as far as I am concerned doesn't qualify you for anything. This is just my opinion on the subject. If you go to examnotes.com and ask the same question you will get many different opinions.

Thanks.. What I'm really looking for is some resources that can help sell the idea of my company paying for my training.

I have to agree with Alexander. You need to look at the job requirements and see how the certification will enhance your performance with those requirements. Getting a certification means you passed a test and memorized exactly the answers they wanted. It doesn't mean you can apply what you learned to real life situations.

Our answers do answer your question. We didn't provide MCSE documentation or websites, but if you want to sell your company on the idea of paying for it, THEN you need to show how it will improve your performance. In other words, how will them helping you get this certification add value to the company.

THAT and only THAT is what THEY will want to know. If you want to know more about MCSE then contact local schools that provide the certification, they will have brochures and such about what it covers, etc. Also, check out Microsofts web page. They will have a certifications page buried there.

Good Luck
