The info in question is stored in a workgroup information file (.mdw). Assuming you have administrator rights (sounds like everyone does), then hold down the Shift key while opening the database. Go to the TOOLS menu and select the SECURITY sub-menu. The easiest approach from there is to select the User-Level Security Wizard from the fly-out menu. Just follow the on-screen instructions from there.

Open the db as before. Click TOOLS - SECURITY - USER AND GROUP ACCOUNTS...
Make sure that the login you are using is listed as part of the "Admins" group. If not, then add it to that group. Close that dialog box.
Click TOOLS - SECURITY - USER AND GROUP PERMISSIONS...
In the middle of the dialog box, make sure the USER radio button is selected. To the right of that is a list box containing a list of all the types of objects in the database (i.e. Tables, Forms, Queries, Reports, etc.) Select whichever type you are trying to export. In the top right of the dialog box will be a list of all the objects of that type. Select the specific object(s) to be exported. Then, in the lower left corner, click the ADMINISTER check box so there is a visible check mark. Taht will automatically check all the other 3 check boxes above it. Click the Apply button. Then click OK. This will close the dialog box. Now close the database. Reopen the database while holding down the shift key. Now try your export. Please let me know if this solves your problem or not.

Thank you for your answer but it did not work. I am at a very loose end with this one!
But when I go into the user level security wizard it does recognise me as the Admin account but does not hold any permissions for me! I am well and truly stuck! Thanks!
