migrate printers from NT4 server

By ip_fresh ·
I'm trying to migrate printers from NT4 server to Server 2003 by using Printer Migrator 3.1.
During restore process on 2003 I stuck with error :
"Kernel Mode drivers (version 2) are blocked on the target machine. Disable Kernel Mode driver blocking and re-run Printer Migrator".

Have anybody come accross this problem?

Well firstly this is the wrong place to ask a Question

by HAL 9000 Moderator In reply to migrate printers from NT4 ...

The Tech Q & A is the right place and there you will get auto generated notices every time someone responds and you'll also earn Tech points when you close off the question. So next time you have a question ask it there as you'll get a much faster response and generally someone in your time zone will be able to help you out. Remember TR is world wide so the discussion forums are really a slow way to get a response.

But in answer to your question what you have to do is set 2003 to Mixed mode to migrate from a NT 4 box across as there are different protocols involved hence the error message you are receiving. This issue was addressed at the MS release of 2003 and is be available on the MS Knowledge base.

I don't know if any of the above will cover exactly what you need as I've just plucked them out of a list of URLs relating to Migrating from NT4 to 2003 ES.

If none of them are of any assistance you should repost the question to the Tech Q & A there is a guy called The Chas who should be more than able to help you out.

Cheers
