I could not get A-Trends web page to open up this morning.

If A-Trend does not have a BIOS update available for your motherboard, your next best option is to install a PCI IDE controller card.

For around $30, you not only get large hard drive support, you also get ATA100 or ATA133 data transfer rates.
A big improvement over the UDMA 33 or 66 supported by your motherboard.

You usually need to set your BIOS boot sequence to include SCSI in the boot sequence to boot from the drive on thecontroller card.

If you really want a BIOS upgrade, one source is www.unicore.com

They are a 3rd party writing custom BIOSes for just about any motherboard.

Expect to pay around $60 for a new BIOS.

The only free option that you have if A-Trend does not havean updated BIOS for your board, is to download and install the Drive / BIOS overlay program from the hard drive mfg.

CAUTION: with a drive overlay program installed, you need to follow special procedures to boot from a floppy, and install your operating system.
