Have you tried TELNET, from the command prompt?
Alternatively, could you FTP into the Unix server?

It is true, you can ftp files from your Unix systems to your NT systems. However, since you want to mount the filesystems on your NT system, you have a couple options:
1) Purchase (or find freeware) NFS client software. This will allow you to useNFS server (on the Unix side) and then you install the NFS client (on the NT side). This allows you to mount the Unix just like another NT share.
2) Use Samba on the Unix side. This is an open source file sharing package for Unix. It allows you to share your Unix directories and they appear to Microsoft OS's just like normal shares.

Either solution will allow you to map/mount and view your Unix files on the NT system. And use them as any other share.

You need to install Samba on the Unix server or something like SCO Vision FS. It depends on what version of Unix you are running and what is available for it.

Samba will allow you to see the Unix server in the Network Neighborhood, and connect to its resources.
