The ATI TV Wonder PCI card and A-I-W video cards come with software and the necessary inputs to record VHS tapes and DVD disks to your hard drive in several formats including MPEG-1(VideoCD) and MPEG-2.

Be advised you will need a very fast system P4 2.4GHz+ to avoid buffer overflow resulting choppy playback and huge amounts of free RAM and hard drive space on a very fast hard drive with an 8MB buffer(a RAID-0 array would help).

One 2 hour movie in MPEG-2 format requires 4GB+ hard drive space and will hit the Windows maximum file size limit. It is advisable to record a movie in 2 parts to avoid getting the end of the movie cut off.
