MS Access ActiveX Ctrl TreeView - Error

By damber ·
I cannot get the TreeView ActiveX Control to work in MS Access 97. I've added the control to a form and added nodes built from my database - this works OK. Though when I load the form i will get many errors, - all concerning Events that I don't usefor example: "The Event NodeClick" or "MouseOver" will state their is a problem either finding the Event or in loading the ActiveX control. I created a few of these events and added msgbox's to test if this would resolve the issue, but it didn't work.

PLEASE HELP!! I feel that if it wasn't for this minor issue I've almost got this sorted.. (This is my first experience with this ActiveX Control and know only the bare minimum)

thanks!

Which version of the treeview control are you using 5 or 6? First thing I would do is replace the OCX for the control. To find the OCX and its location open a code window and on the toolbar under Tools click References. Then highlight the treeview control ver5=Microsoft Common Controls 5.0(sp) or ver6=Microsoft Common Controls 6.0. At the bottom of the window you will see the location of the OCX. You can get the latest version on the OCX control from Microsoft's website. Another thing to check is if both OCX controls are being referenced make sure that the one you are using is higher on the list than the other. If you need further explination drop me a line.

Good Luck

You said it loads the tree from info in your database without error? Is the treeview used for more than viewing, can they drag/drop, or delete from the tree? If so, what is the user attempting to do when the error is produced? Or if the tree is only used for viewing, what triggers the error?
