MS Dos Workgroup Assignment

By JoBriKa ·
We have an old DOS system, do not laugh, that supports a cutting machine. It is connected to a MS Dos network and has the default Workgroup name: workgroup. I need to change the name to another workgroup in our network to move some need files to it. I looked at all the NET USE commands and there is not one that allows changeing or initiating the workgrop name.

Question how can I change the workgroup name within the MS Dos operation system?

Microsoft has provided help for DOS networking. They are free downloads, get them from ftp.microsoft.com. Get the DOS Workgroup Client from ftp.microsoft.com, in directory /bussys/clients/msclient and get WG1049.EXE, from /softlib/mslfiles.

See this article for explanations, links, etc.

I think it may be what you're looking for.

DOS Client Configuration:

REMOVE SPACES from the pasted URL.
