MS systems enough?

By zhounick ·
I'm a new immigration in Toronto. Just came here several months ago. Have been working as a Network/Database administrator for about 5 years. What I did b4 mainly focused on MS operation system like MS NT/2000/SQL, and I'm a MCSE (2000)/MCDBA. So should I keep focusing on it? Or spend some more time on other OS like Unix/Linux? But without a production environment, what I can learn might be limited and couldn?t get into it thoroughly. Really feel confused now, if anyone can give some advice on it will be highly appreciated.
BTW, could somebody tell where I can find the good information/websites online about Linux/Unix/Oracle.Thanks again.

You should be able to find good employment with your creditials. However, at least in the area I live, more companies are using Linux and Solaris in addition to NT. So the more you know, the more you are worth.

Learn more about your specialty while also learning new/different technologies is a good policy in this industry and esp. this economy.

well I'm not a master in networking, but i learnt Unix before I touch NT/2000. every rumour bout NT almost all true .... like the main core of NT was build with unix tech. most of the command are the same .... only MS provide more GUI than unix ! but dont be afraid, with X-window from unix ... you will taste the GUI environtment from unix system ... Web for this : www.rootshell.com
