Multiple profiles for an Outlook acct.?

By michael.an ·
Is it possible to have multiple profiles for the same Outlook account?

Here's my problem. I have an Outlook account for my company email on my laptop. When I'm at the office, I use the default profile to send/receive remail using my company's email server (both POP and SMTP). When I'm at home, I need to change the SMTP server setting in order to send email for the company email account, because my home ISP won't let me use my company's SMTP server. So, I would like to have 2 separate profiles. When I'm at the office, I'll chose the "office" profile to use my office's SMTP server. When I'm at home, I'll chose the "home" profile to use my home ISP's SMTP server to send out email for my office account.

Currently I'm manually changing the SMTP server setting whenever I get home or get to the office. If profile is not the way to go, can anyone offer another suggestion?

Thanks in advance.

this can certainly be accomplished.
Whay version of Outlook are you running.
You will want to configure the additional profile and then set Outlook to prompt you for which profile to use, so you do not have to make any manual changes when trying to open your email.

You can do that, In order to assit you better, I need to know the version of Outlook you are using. If you are unsure, please open your email as you normally would, click on the Help menu (at the top by File, Edit etc) and click on About. In there you will find the name of the program and the version.

I've figured out how to do this....

I wasn't able to do it before because I was creating new profiles, which will not have any links to my existing accounts. However, if I make copies of my existing profiles, they will retain all the links to my existing accounts. I can then make individual changes to these profiles to suite my needs.

By the way, I am using Outlook2002.

Thank you.
