with bumping up that ram a little...Win 7 requires at least 1 gig on a 32 bit system. Grant you, that's minimum requirements, it's runs really nice on 4 gig. See system requirements here http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/windows7/products/system-requirements

Is this a new build?

by OH Smeg In reply to My pc gets shutdown autom ...

Sounds as if it is and that the BIOS has not been correctly configured.

When the POST Screen appears you are told which key to press to enter the Setup so you need to press that key generally the Delete Key and when the BIOS Opens check that the correct amount of RAM is displayed as well as the right CPU Speed and the Date & Time are correct.

Then chose Load Defaults and save the changes as you exit the BIOS.

See if that improves the situation.

Damaged CPU

by TheChas In reply to My pc gets shutdown autom ...

If the CPU had been overheating, it may have been damaged.

I would replace the CPU and make sure you have a high quality heatsink and fan to keep the CPU from overheating.

While you are looking at things, make sure that there is sufficient cool air flowing into the case. I personally, make sure that the fans blowing into the case have more total airflow than the fans blowing out of the case.
