NDPS vs IP Printing...?

By Chris_Bettini ·
Hey All!
I control about 300 workstations with about 30 printers. I want to use ip printing instead of NDPS printers. to clear off 30 printers of the novell server...would that help free up some resources on the server or doesnt really matter. Just wanted some info to give the boss for a reason why i want to go IP printing.

I like ip printing

Its easy to install and, in my opinion, easy to troubleshoot. The jobs don't have to queue thru a server or workstation first so don't use those resources.

What I found frustrating when I worked for the school district is that it was difficult to tell exactly what server printers were installed on. Each school had 3 servers or more and there was no consistancy when the network was first set up. When we moved to ip printing it became much easier and less time consuming to install a printer for someone.

I do small office and almost always direct print. Put it requires setting every printer on ever station. Lots of work.
