Need to move large files across differently formatted drives (NTFS vs. mac)

By lmalboeuf ·
I have large video files on a mac-formatted external hard drive. I need to get these files onto a larger RAID drive that is NTFS (which means that it can't be written on by a mac). Any ideas?

Where is the RAID located - is it in a NAS box, or is in in a PC?

How do you connect this drive?

by OH Smeg In reply to Need to move large files ...

I would connect it to the Mac and network the 2 systems with a Cross Over CAT Cable between them Share the Drive in question and then from either the Mac or PC copy the file/s to where you want them stored.

Of you can install the Mac Partition Reading Software on your Windows Box plug the External Drive into the Windows Box and copy the file/s to where you want them on the Windows Box.

remember to remove the space from between klauskjeldsen and the .dk for a working link.

File transfers

I ran across this product today and was asking myself who could possibly use it. This would work for the file transfers you want to do. I first found the item as a "today sale" on a well-known website.

Remove the space before the period to use the link.
