Network Printer connection failure

By rfawver ·
I am running Novell Netware 4.7 and windows 2000 pro. I ahve laptop computers that are networked using compaq wireless cards. The laptops were connected to a printer and now have lost the connection. When trying to reconnect i recieve the error that the printer is no longer valid. I have had the print queue reconfigured and I am able to see the printer using other network computers also using Windows 2000 Pro. Any Ideas?

Try deleting the printer on the laptop and then reset the printer up on it. its possible that the path to the server changed slightly when it was reconfigured.

I would say that the laptop that the printer is connected to is not recognizing the prnport. This is usually caused by duplicates. if you check safemode, and find duplicate printer ports under the device mgr./Ports or under "Other Devices" remove them all. Upon reboot the correct printer port will be detected! Deal with it all the time!
I hope this could help you!
