Network Scanning

By jkey ·
Is there a way for me to use my scanner on the network? I would like to be able to hook my scanner up to a workstation (or some other way) and be able to scan from another computer located in another room. Please let me know if this can be done by asharing method like the printers in Windows 2000/XP or by way of third party software.

www.networkview.com

NetworkView is a nice scanner that reads the SNMP information for devices and gives you a lot of information.

Get Virtual Network Computing 3.3.3r9 from cnet.com. It's freeware, installs a server on the "computer located in another room" and a reader client on your PC. All you need it TCP/IP to communiate with it. Then you can control that other PC via remote control. Then copy or move your scanned images through the network via Windows Explorer. Fast, easy and cheap.
