Network with a XP machine and a Vista machine

By j.trahair ·
I have at last 'upgraded' my wife's desktop to Vista, whilst my laptop is on XP. We have a small network (cables, not Bluetooth or wireless). The Vista machine connects very easily to the XP machine - my wife can see my files and etc. I cannot connect from XP to the Vista machine. Have tried no passwords, and with passwords - no deal. Please can anyone tell me how to connect to Vista machine from my XP machine? Thank you.

Network with a XP machine and a Vista machine

I have a similar setup but vista on a laptop and XP desktop. I just used the network setup from xp and then created a network setup disk and ran it on the Vista machine.
Both can see each other without any problems.
