networking win2k and win95

By RG11 ·
I have two workstations running windows 2k professional set up to share a printer. I have them networked through a dsl 4 port router. Is there any problems if I add a 95 or 98 workstation to share this printer. After the hardware is set up what needs done on the win 2k end.

as long as the router supports wins and dns then you should be fine. Just remember that when you configure the win95/98 system the workgroup must be the same as the windows2k machines. On the win2k machine broswer the network and attach to the printer.

1) Make sure to add the user account of w9x (the account u want to use for Win9x login) in w2k prof's users & groups snapin.

2) Configure the machine on the same workgroup.

3) Is you are using tcpip then make sure the IP settings are correct.
