    New Mozilla Sunbird calendar

Is it possible to integrate the Mozilla calendar Sunbird into Outlook Express 6.0? I can’t seem to find instructions for doing so through Microsoft support or Mozilla support.

Sunbird is a stand alone application. It is not designed to “integrate” with OE, Outlook, or any other software package.

In fact, you cannot even directly import your calendar data from Outlook to Sunbird because of Microsoft’s proprietary file format.

The companion to Sunbird, Lightning is designed to integrate with Thunderbird.

Now for the “unless”. If you wish to tackle the challenge, it may be possible to write an extension or plug-in for Sunbird so that it can at least share data if not become fully integrated into OE.

As a side note, there is little if any “lost love” between the programmers working on Sunbird and the other Mozilla applications and Microsoft. For the most part, the programming teams all desire to build applications that perform better than what Microsoft has to offer.

First of all, thanks Chas, for responding. I didn’t think there would be any cooperation between competitors, but it never hurts to ask if anyone out there has figured out an easy fix. I will probably fool around with this for awhile, just to give me something to do now that the NFL season is almost over! Thanks again for your quick reply.
