No option to open a pdf file in IE7

By dana803 ·
This problem just started earlier today. Due to Windows updates? When clicking a link to open a pdf from a webpage in IE7, I'm prompted to save or cancel. there is no button to Open the pdf file. checked security and Adobe setting, reinstalled IE7. What is causing this? Is there a recent windows update that suddenly added some security to downloading/opening files from a browser? Thank you for any help you can provide.

Reinstall Adobe

What you usually need to do when a plug-in does not work is to reinstall the plug-in.

Adobe Reader acts as a plug-in for IE. When Adobe does not work, the simple thing is to install Adobe again.

You may also need to go into the file types section of Windows Explorer Options and change the default action for PDF files.
