Norton Utilities

Can the Norton Utility Disk Doctor really detect problems on the harddisk? You see, whenever I use it, it tells me that my harddisk is okey. But still I'm having some problems running both the Internet and Windows application.

If you have the option to perform a surface test checked, then "Yes" to your question. This option will take much longer to run.

Your problem may however be elsewhere....

I would run the disk repair utility first, then the speed disk(defrag utility)- it does no good to do it the other way around as the speed disk connot complete if there are disk problems that need to be corrected with the disk repair utility(scan disk). Anyways, the defrag utility will probably not solve the problems you are having.
Also, run the registry repair utility....

Then, make sure that you have the most recent service packs and updates for Windows and Internet Explorer - you can down load these from the Microsoft download center:

Thank you for the info. I just like to know from others if it really works. Have a nice day!
