NT 2000 Training

By oringram ·
I completed my MCSE+I traing for NT 4.0 and I am currently studying for Cert test. my questions is; Should I wait until Microsoft starts testing for Win2000 Cert. or get my certification now in NT4.0?

Is there a major difference between 4.0 & 2000 for Administrator use.

If you are ready, don't wait for Windows 2000 Cert. Finish the cert now and upgrade later. If time doesn't permit, take the core exams first that makes you qualify for the 2000 accelerated exam.

If you have completed your training for MCSE+I, then you know that you have a total of 9 exams to take. Windows2000 only requires 7, and there is no '+I' add-on available (Internet knowledge is required for MCSE2000).

As for differences between NT4 and Win2000, the answer is YES!!! There is a major difference - mostly for administrators (end-users won't see many of the changes).

I agree with answer #1 - pass the three NT4 exams - Workstation, Server, and Server in the Enterprise - then gostraight for the Win2000 cert. Passing these three will allow you to take the accelerated exam in 2000 (it's still a total of 7 exams, but it will allow you to claim a broader knowledge base).

Just go on with NT 4.0, it will take 1 year more for microsoft to set the cert for Windows 2000. And when it comes, you just need a little bid to upgrade your knowledge .

Get the nt4.0 certification now and you may be prepared to take the one time exam to upgrade.
