NT SERVER 4.0 INSTALLATION

By lylea42 ·
It's been a long time since I actually had to install NT Server 4.0 on a new machine and now I need a little help. I am setting up server on a new HP Vectra 800mhz with a 30gig harddrive and have had a brainfart. Can't seem to get the installationto work. After fdisk and setting up partitions to max of 4gig using win98 startup disk I realized that NT cannot recognize FAT32 and need to start over. What do I have to do to partition my harddrive and have NT recognize it for installation

You shouldn't have to use anything to partition the drive. When you run NT setup it will give you an option to create a new partition and format it.

Are you saying that I should delete all the partitions I created, boot from the startup disks and let NT partition the harddrive. I thought NT could only see partition less than 4 gig. I currently have a 30 gig harddrive in the system

You could make doual boot between win 98 and NT server.
Just by formating with Fat 16, or just let win nt server doit for you, during setup.
