1) I understand that someone changed the Administrator password. If you did not make a backup copy of the Administrator account, you will have to reinstall Windows NT server. I suggest after you reinstall, to make a backup copy of the Administrator account and keep the copy is a safe place off site.

2) Go to Control Pannel, System, Performance. Click CHANGE. Change your Paging File size 11-12 mb plus your machine's available physical memory size. That should take care of it.

3) I need toknow the exact steps and screens you receive just before the malfunction. Are you installing from the network or from a CD? If you are installing from a CD make sure you remove it when asked.

I have a solution for your question number 1.
You should download a program called 'Lophtcrack'. Run this program on your server and it will crack almost every password.

1) There are two small apps. called NT Recover and NT Locksmith. You can find them on WinInternals. With these tools you can change the pass. of your Administrator and gain access to your system again.

2) First go to Control Panel -> System -> Performance. Click on Change. On the window that will come up you will notice the drive(s) / path(s) where you specify you pagefiles to be created. If by changing the size you still get errors, try to delete the pagefiles from this window (set theVirtual RAM to 0), then restart your server. After restarting delete the physical pagefiles (<drive>:\pagefile.sys) from the disk and then recreate them through Control Panel.

3) If you are installing from a CD make sure that you CD doesn't have a physical problem. Try with another pc maybe. If you are installing from a network share make sure that two condintions are met:
a) The files on that share are not read only and
b) you have not copied corrupted files from a CD.

Hope all of that works for you.
