ntdll.dll error

By aduran ·
I am running Windows 2000 and Office XP on my PC. When I go to open Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, or Project I receive the following error:

The Procedure entry point LdrLockLoaderLock could not be located in the dynamic link library ntdll.dll.

After closing the error message I can continue using the application but the messages are getting annoying.

Any suggestions? I have tried replacing the file with another one from another PC but the system tells me the file is in use and cannot replace it.

I can not find anything regarding the ntdll.dll and the LdrLockLoaderLock in the MS KB, are those the only error messages (check the eventviewer also.
For now I will suggest a repair of the office xp, and install the sp1 and sp2 for office xp.

It sounds like you don't have an English version installed.
I found over 118 answers to a sinilar thread but it was all German!
Using a little translation stuff, I found that the problem was common with Office XP being installed with the wrong language files ?!?

The ntdll.dll can be restored from the NT install disk but it sounds like your Office install is looking for the wrong files.
Have you tried runnig a fix/repair on yoru Office install? Also, ensure you have ALL the latest XP and 2K updates.

Good luck, any other info you can offer would help if you can post back.

I have installed the latest SP for Win 2k but this did not work. I also tried running a repair on Office with no luck. Next I tried running Office SP2 but when I try to run in it gives me "The expected version of the product was not found on your system" message.

Yes, I am gonna take the easy road here.

Have you put SP1 for Office XP on the machine? It might fix this.
