ODBC Connection Error

By rlenaghan ·
Good morning. We have developed in house Data Management software written in VB5, so our external clients can access our remote database. With some installations of the software at the Client sites - only about 1 in 6 installs - we receive this error message on connection attempts:

MicrosoftRDO,Rdoconnetions: IM006:[Microsoft][ODBC DriverManager] Driver's SQLSetconnectATTR.Failed

Now, all of our external connections to Client sites are Fibred PVC's via our ISP. We can access the databases on the desktop's receiving the above error via SQL Plus, but we can't through the desktop Data Management software.

Keeping in mind that, this error in intermittent - only once in a while, but we can't seem to pin-point it.

If any can help me out with this, that would be great.

Thank you....

Rod
