overheating?

you can probably find a way to disable the on-board speaker but don't you want to fix what's causing the alarm? sounds like it's overheating. do all the fans spin? are the innards (especially fans, heat sinks and air openings?) pretty dusty?

BIOS PC Health Screen

by TheChas In reply to Old Motherboard-How to st ...

The first thing to do, is to find out what is the source of the alarm.

Reboot and enter BIOS setup.

Navigate to the PC Health screen.

It should highlight which monitored device is causing the problem.

If the failure is slow fan speed or temperature, then clean or replace the fan.

If it is a power supply voltage, replace the power supply.

If it is the CPU core voltage, odds are that filter caps on the motherboard are failing. If so, you need to replace the motherboard or the computer.
