opps I do want to be asked to save type

By cowen80194 ·
I was online and I was clicking quickly and clikced the box about saving and ask me if I want further prompts about saving this file type.

Well now if I save .EXE I get prompted but if I click on a link and it links to a .Zip or a .COM and I think there may be others it just saves them and I can not tell the system where to put them.

I have tried to locate the file types in the registry but none of the results were what I was looking for and now I am not sure if this is even stored in thereg files.

Is there a file or key that I can find this in or a program I can get that will allow me to fix this

I can find the programs after I do a search so the files are being saved just a nusance to search my network every time I download a file.

Thanks

opps I do want to be asked to save type

by Pinoy_Teknik In reply to opps I do want to be aske ...

I think you should know where is the default download diretory.

Here is my solution...
Specifying the Default Download Directory in Internet Explorer

To specify the default download directory for the Internet Explorer

Start Regedit
Go toHKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer

Add a String value called Download Directory
For it's value, enter in the Directory where you want your downloaded files to go

Now you know where the save files or downloaded files goes to..

Hope this help
God bless!!
