Outlook 2002 wont send messages....

By aelara ·
I have a problem that is really starting to annoy me. At times I have to write several e-mails in one sitting, so obviously (not on broadband yet!) I write them while I'm not connected. My problem is, whether I am working online or offline accordingto outlook, whenever I connect to the internet to send my mail I get a message back from the 'system administrator' stating my mail is undeliverable! I'm running a stand alone computer in my home so I dont know how a system administrator plays any part. Someone please help as I'm getting to the end of my tether....

Just call your Internet Service Provider, they will ensure that your system is connecting to the correct mailbox using the correct information.
Be sure to tell them that you compose offline and then logon to send.

Sorry, I forgot to add that if I hit the resend button after I have double clicked the the message from the system administrator and I am online (connected to the internet), it will then send the mail.

In outlook under Tools-Options-Mail setup uncheck
the box for 'Automatically dial during a background send/receive'.
Don't make a dialup connection before you open outlook.
Now when you open outlook DON'T GO into offline
mode. Open outlook as usual and since you're not
connected to your ISP,outlook will display a error message with your connection. Ignore it for
the time being and close that window.

Compose your messages. Then manually make your
dialup connection. After you're onlinesend all
your messages one by one. After you're done sending all messages you can manually click the
Send/Receive button on the toolbar to immediately
receive any emails or you can wait for outlook to
automatically receive them.

Outlook is probably confused between offline/online mode and dialup. Hope this helps.
