Outlook 2002 (XP)

My boss wants to auto forward his messages to his home e-mail account. I tried Rule Wizard or Out of Office assistance and the add rule. Both methods fail to forward the messages. Can someone send me the steps?

The rules created by the wizard are either client-based or server-based. You can only use server-based rules if you are connected to an Exchange server and are using an Exchange mailbox (won't work with personal folders files). Server-based rules are applied when the email passes through the server.

Client-based rules can only be applied when Outlook is operating. There is no way to apply rules while Outlook is shut down because Outlook is accessing any email servers to download email.
The same applies for the Out of Office Assistant.

Hope this helps.
