Outlook 2003 error mail box reached its limit, buy only 900MB ,

Have XP Pro SP3
Office 2003 Pro SP3
Exchange server 2003
e-mails in exchanged cached mode to local PST files configured in 2003 version for the standard 4GB limit.

One PC has started coming up with error 0x8004060C

Have looked into this and has a 1.86GB PST deleted e-mails so about 1GB. Then compacted down to 900MB

Still error comes up

Also created a new PST file in 2003 Unicode so technically is 4GB but accoring to Microsoft Article 832925 can be 20GB

Still same error, even though I have prior removed all PST files, Still in foldier in docs and settings, but have removed from data files, so only using new blank one

still same error

Is something corrupt or reg error

I tried using Article 832925 and adding MaxFileSize and WarnFileSize ect. but this has no effect either.

This error is referring to the email still stored on the server. The mailbox is full.

Have you looked into that end?

Only 15 e-mails kept on Exchange mail box. 8MB

What is the total Mailbox size?

That will include all calendar, task, journal, deleted, sent and inbox items. You can't just look at the size of the inbox. You have to look at the overall size of the Mailbox (account).

PST file is 1.2GB all in. Also had a laptop doing the same thing now. That has 1.46GB PST.
I think this is exchange 2003 not Outlook 2003, wonder if recent updates have caused. Only do auto updates.

Did the outlook is configured to connect directly to the exchange server.

Did the outlook is configured to receive mail directly in Mailbox?

(See, tools, account, put new email in :)

If yes, why you use a .pst files? For backup-up purpose ?

Did the message came from the server ?

Have you the last service pack installed on the exchange server ?

Remove the profile of the user (in outlook, and re-create it.)

Remove all .ost files from the document and settings profiles users.

Have SP2 on server SBS2003 with exchange

Outlook does connect directly to exchange server

e-mails go direct to inbox in Personal folders PST file

Use PST files because most people have 12GB of e-mails in 6 PST files.

This user only has 2 PST files one is 1.5GB other is 700MB

Did remove profile and .ost file

Error message comes up on send and recieve. Says mailbox, but Mail box on exchange has only 14 messages no attachments

Should I do anything with Active directory
