Outlook account too big - Over 2GBs

By bogdan ·
I have a client that has an extremely large outlook 2003 account with around 2 GB's worth of information. Is there any practical ways to reduce that size. Possibly split his PST file into different folders?

AutoArchive

#1 rule is to see how your user actually uses their outlook. Some people (maybe most) use their inbox as a task list.

Having said that, I like to PST every quarter into 2008 Q1, Q2, etc. archive files.

I leave about 6 months of e-mail in the account so that for 99% of what I do, I don't need to go into the PSTs.

If I didn't do this, I would easily surpass 2GB.

Unicode

You should be able to create the PST file unicode vs ASCII. I can't remember what the unicode file size limit is, but you won't have to worry.
