Outlook Distribution Lists

By Rojiru ·
I have a client that uses distribution lists within outlook 98. For whatever reason outlook won't let you delete a member from the distribution list. I have tried this both in 98 and 2K version, but the member doesn't go away.

Thanks for the help!!!

Roger

In Microsoft Outlook 2000, click on the Contacts button to bring up the contacts and distribution lists. Open the distribution list you wish to modify. Under the list of names, highlight the line you wish to delete. Then click on the Romove button. Be sure to click on the Save and Close button in order to save your changes.

It might be something wrong with the setup of your client. (Outlook). You should be able to use the Delete-key or the Remove button to remove recipients. Test your setup by creating a new list, and after you have created it, start deleting members of the list. If this works, you can narrow the problem down to this particular distributionlist. If your test-list have the same problem, try reinstalling the client..

Hello Roger,
I don't understand how can you miss it.
By double-clicking on the distribuition list (in bold), the list opens and reveals the participants. As you highlight the user you want to delete, you can click on remove (botton on top).

Are you talking about Personal Distribution lists? or DL in the Global Address List?

If in the GAL, the user needs rights to be assigned to modify the list. Rights granted from Exchange Administrator.
