Outlook/Exp do not save account password

By cowen80194 ·
Ok I have tried the common ideas.

Go to tools options and account and add the password. Is not saved.

Made a new account same thing.

Even tried setting up Express and it does the same thing.

The problem. Open up Outlook 9 or Express and hit the send receive button and I am prompted for a password. Enter that and click save, no good, put this in the account settings, no good.

This is on XP Home and using Verizon ISP.

This happened after a restore using the XP service but I am not sure when the problem happened to make this situation appear.

I had the same problem in Outlook 2000 with Windows 2000 - after a restore via a Norton Ghost image to a new hard drive. I don't know what caused it for certain, but I fixed it with MS KB article 259416. I had to remove a registry key. Good luck. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;259416
