I have Windows XP Pro and have a problem with Outlook Express.

When i click onto the icon it goes into Outlook Express and starts sending and receiving emails but then it comes out of the program. I have to click onto the icon again it goes back into Outlook Express, but the emails are still arriving when i have come out of the program.

Does anyone know of any ideas how i can cure this

Download and run Ad-Aware (free) from the lavasoft site. Run the web update for it. Run an up to date antivirus (a free one is available from grisoft.com). Get rid of any spyware/viruses that it finds!

Luck

THe system semms to be infected with a virus or malicous spyware.
Ad-aware is a utility that gets rid of spyware, see the following site for free download
http://spyware-removal.net/

I would suggest that you run the anti-virus software on your machine, first to detect for virus, scan the system any viruses found will show in report after scan completes

sounds like Outlook Express is hanging on close.
try logging in with another user profile (like, administrator with a blank password). see if outlook express behaves then. or try Safe mode. if you can get it to stay open, try creating another Identity. if the new identity behaves, you have corrupt profile. post that and get help moving stuff from old to new. otherwise, i agree with malware verdict
