Outlook hangs

By daniel ·
Every time a particular user scrolls through their personal contact list on Outlook 2000, it hangs at the same contact and then closes Outlook. I first reinstalled Office 2000, and later duplicated the same issue on other workstations. We are running Exchange 2000 on a W2K Server.

Is there any way to fix a user's corrupt contact list on Exchange or work around this issue?

Thanks,
Dan

Have you tried to delete the contact? If that won't work, you can export the contact list to a .csv, open it in Excel, delete the contact from there, and then reimport it into Outlook.

Hope this helps!

The user was just scrolling down the list, not actually selecting that user contact. However, I deleted the contact as suggested and the issue still existed. I finally tried exporting the Contact List as a .pst file and then importing it back to Outlook which solved the problem.

Thanks anyway!

Sorry for posting twice - my system hung during posting and I wasn't sure it had gone through...

And then I thought of something extra to add, too :-)
