Outlook Problems

By milesy1971 ·
HI all

hopefully someone can help me solve a problem i am having.

On my laptop, when i try to open an email (one that is already in my inbox), i double click on the message and then the system will often sit waiting for something, the little symbol in the top left hand corner goes white, and i cant do anything for up to 4 or 5 seconds.

Then the system recovers itself and i can work as normal.

Next message, does the same thing.

Any ideas how i can find what is holding the system up ??

Registry check?

by oldbaritone In reply to Outlook Problems

How long has it been since you ran a registry check and cleaned out temporary files?

TR recommended CCleaner, and it's free. I use it and it has saved a lot of problems. Run the registry check and cleanup - and see what happens.

Of course, MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE YOU BEGIN! :-)

maybe you have Outlook setup to download only the headers for the email. I set my Outlook to download everything to my computer so when I open a message I don't have to wait. Maybe that is what is causing your slowness.
