Outlook, tasks functions

By Borg7of9 ·
I use both Outlook2000 and Outlook 2002. I have started using the tasks, and I am using the time fields, "Total work" and "Actual work" I want to always have these fields show "hours" but if I fill in for example 8 hours, it changes it it to display 1 Day. Is there a way so that it always will display time in hours?

Also, I was wondering if there was a way to email a task to someone else? ( I dont use exchange)

Thanks

I haven't been able to turn the time worked feature to hours only, but if you follow these steps you can increase the number of hours in a "day" up to 24. Therefore any amount of time worked under 24 hours will be reported in hours, not days. Unfortunately anything over 24 hours worked still gets reported as days and fractions thereof.

In Outlook 2000 go to Tools>Options>Other>Advanced>Change Task Working Hours per day to "24" (cannot be higher).

I do not have 2002 so someone else will have to verify these steps.

Just checked my system again. If you follow the same steps and increase the hours in "a week" to 168, anything work done under 168 seems to be reported in hours only. Give it a try.

I also noticed that if it is a reasonable fraction of a day, i.e 36 hours, 48 hours, the response still comes back in days (1.5 days, 2 days). However 49 hours stays as 49 hours.
