Overclocking help!

By Norehca ·
Ok, i know alot of you probably want to tell me its best not to overclock but i am determined to get this machine running faster.

Now i already understand the basics of overclocking. But im getting small problems with it. Ive already increased my CPU by 200 MHz. It wotn go anymore and its working fine and is cool at 115 degrees full load. But its the video card im having trouble with.

I have an ATI Radeon x1950 Pro. Now i dont understand why im getting these problems but after a while of playing my video games the computer will restart itself. But after some research i find people are overclocking there x1950's 40Mhz more than me with no problems. Im already ordering a cooling unit for it to se if that helps, if it doesn ti want one anyway because cooler is better. Im even ordering some plates for my RAM.

Im using powerstrip to overclock my card.

Can anyone help me to get my system to run stable?

Keep working on cooling

Maybe use some plastic strips to set up ducting paths to cool the video card better. Besure all the vents and filters are clean and unobstructed.

definately a cooling issue. also make sure your PS can handle the overclocking you are doing.

If its a Name Brand 400W

there should be no problem. if it is a generic there could be some small issues. I wouldn't think there would be a problem as 400 should be enough for the setup described.
