By flyacr ·
I have set up an exchange server at home with a IP addres resolved to my domain i.e mail.mydomain.com, so when I try to connect remotely using mail.mydomain.com/exchange I connot connect. I get a page cannot be displayed error, cannot find server orDNS error. The strange thing is this is from my office however other people in different locations, using the same URL can connect, also using a dial up service from my office I can conncect to Outlook but cannot see any of my mail.
Please Help, DoI have a configuration prob or fire wall prob

Seems that if others from the same domain can access the server then everything is fine. But it is awkward that you cannot from your system. Do you have a software firewall running on your system? If so, disable it just for diagnostics and see if that's the problem.

Apologies, I forgot to mention that I have tried the connecting to a different server i.e mail.diffdomain.com/exchange from my office and I got through to their mail box, which confusses me as if it is the firewall, why would it let one through and not the other??
Could it be something to do with the firewall on my router at home???

I have had some "strange" problems over the years and it's always related back to ZoneAlarm. Once I disable ZoneAlarm, things just seem to work perfect.

we had a few problems when we set up owa going through an ISA server before connecting to the net. It only worked when setting the owa box to have the default gateway of the internal interface of the isa box.

At the end of the day, it turned out to be a port on the company firewall that had to be opened.
