Part number for memory

By jrenze ·
I have a user that needs 128MB memory for a Compaq ENS P600 The part number on the memory is 308878-001 Compaq says they do not recognize this part number. How do I determine what part number to order?

Part number for memory

The part number you referenced is a compaq
"spare" parts number, which is different than the number of the item itself. Why compaq does this, I have no idea.

The part number corresponds to a 128mb Dimm, but it is for the Presario model line, not an EN. Also, there is no such model as an ENS P600. Have your user Double check, it sounds like a Deskpro EN, Deskpro EN6000 or similar.

www.kingston.com has a good on-line searcheable database for just about every make, model, manufacturer available. You don't have to buy from them, but you can get their part number.

The part code you require is 174224-B21, this is for a 128MB Memory Kit. If you have any other queries with Compaq or DEC part number mail mae or post here and I'll do my best to look into it for you.

Hope this is of help,

Eoin.

p.s. The EN can accommodate max three memory kits.
