password popup

By 2000man ·
I just reloaded win 98 and get a popup asking for a password for my network each time I bootup. I don't have a network and would like to get rid of this popup but don't know how.
Thanks
David

go into the control panel

Then to the networking icon

Remove the entries you see that say:

Client for Microsoft Networks
Client for Novell Networks
Microsoft Family Login

If one or more of the above is not there don't worry, just remove the ones that are.

Leave the rest the way it is.

you can also bypass the logon box if you have a blank password and you change your primary network logon to Windows logon...
