PC indicates there is a WIN95 kernel

By ww0519 ·
I am trying to network 2 Gateway PCs. When I go to partitian the C drive, it tells me that WIN95 is there. Is there another way to network these computers since I am unable to use WINNT on this system? Please tell me how.

PC indicates there is a WIN95 kernel

To make clarification as to why I am confused about what is happening with networking with the Gateway PC's, originally WIN98 SE was loaded onto the system. The hard drive was taken back to "O" and I tried to reinstall NT. That is when again the system indicated WIN95 was at the core.
Who can help with info? Is it because WIN98 SE is only an upgrade?

If I understand your question correctly, you are attempting to fdisk your C: drive while windows is running. This has neever worked for me.

Open Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs. Select the Startup Disk tab and click create.

Boot your machine with the startup disk you just created and run fdisk from there.

Happy networking
