PC restart after plug in USB drive

By choy.waigiat ·
Whenever I plug in a USB drive the PC will restart by itself. I tried this USB drive on another computer and it works fine.

Anything that I should check.

thanks

Short-Circuits 99%

by Master_Key In reply to PC restart after plug in ...

It is 99% due to short circuit, any USB have a 4 wires, two for data, the other for the power, thus if any pin is moved from its location, and plugging the USB socket will short them +vs- , it will reboot the computer.
