    PCAnywhere Remote Printing Problem

    Locked

    by nc24hour ·

I use PCAnywhere from home to log into the office. For years I printed to my home printer (parallel) but recently had to replace my home printer with a USB printer. Now I can’t print with PCAnywhere any more. I installed the proper driver at work and set the port to PCAW type. Can anyone offer any ideas please?

printer probably had an ip address associated with it and was mapped on the office computer but your usb printer does not.

We do quite a bit of printing over terminal services here. Any printers connected to the client through a parallel connection or direct via IP are not a problem. We have had numerous issues related to client USB printers, though. There’s a registry key that needed to be modified on those clients in order for them to print over USB. This is specifically related to terminal services; I’m just curious if PCAnywhere has a similar issue. Here’s the Windows article

I switched from an lpt to usb printer (HP C4280). On host pc, under printers and faxes, right click your printer > properties > ports > and disable bidirectional support. As soon as I did this everything worked great.
